Pablo Neruda, Maksim Gorki, Norman Douglas, Marguerite Yourcenar, Curzio Malaparte and many other writers and painters chose Capri for a long stay, where they were inspired for their works. But Capri is the isle of high life too. Some of the smartest women (and of course men) of the world had a holiday here: Jackie Kennedy, Grace Kelly, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Liz Taylor – just as a few examples.
The Blue Grotto is certainly the most famous attraction on the isle, and there’s no discussion about its beauty. But I would suggest you even other routes or way of visiting the isle for a day or more. It depends on what you like most. If you just want to take a (shopping) walk through the streets of Capri; or enjoy the landscapes and the sea; or visit monuments and famous wonderful villas (Villa San Michele, e.g.). But I wouldn’t miss to discover the gastronomic “point of view” of Capri too….some fish dishes – while your eyes get a spectacular frame – that you will never forget!
